The Branch Council was created in the Governorate in 2001 as an Association commission made by the amended Law so the Council replaces the Branch Committee and takes its role under a legislative and executive power aiming at serving the engineering setting within its jurisdiction. The Branch Council is expected to play a key role through its duties and powers as stated in the Law, such as:
Under Article 3 of the Association Law, the Engineers Association has two centers in Amman and Jerusalem, and it shall have the right to open other branches in various cities of the Kingdom.
Based on this authority, the branch committees were formed under the governorate branch councils whose members are elected for three years.
The branch councils and committees are the pillar on which the Association Council depend to regulate the profession and take care of the fellow engineers’ interests in the governorates. Therefore, the Association new Law added several provisions in relation to the branch councils organization, elections and assurance of independence and decentralization in order to incorporate the real democracy in the practice of the Association process and in forming an institutional operation recognizing the missions, powers and objectives vested in the public commissions and branch councils in governorate.
They are all elected by the Branch General Assembly and on a free and democratic basis.
The Branch Council action plan is concentrated on achieving general and various goals through the available and necessary means to do so.
To continue the communication with the engineers and their engineering gatherings and to create a social engineering environment.
To contribute to upgrading the scientific and professional engineering work.
To activate the Association structures
To continually develop the Branch and upgrade the employees’ performances in order to provide excellent services.
