Social Solidarity Fund
Social Solidarity Fund
Pertinent to the association’s endeavor in seeking to provide the best of its services with respect to living and social conditions of all colleagues and their families, the Social Solidarity Fund for Engineers has been founded in 1999 and the Social Solidarity System was issued on 16/09/2008.
The Goals and Objectives of the foundation of the fund:-
The achievement of social solidarity for the participant members in the fund and their families in accordance with the provisions of these regulations.
The protection of members from deprivation and in case of permanent total inability.
The protection of the members’ families from financial need in the event of the death of the fund member.
The most important items of this system:-
The subscription in the fund is optional for colleagues who have paid their annual subscriptions and who meet the following two conditions:
The first condition: The colleague who wants to subscribe must be less than 50 years of age when submitting the subscription application.
The second condition: Not to be suffering from any chronic disease that would prevent him/her from practicing the profession of engineering.
When submitting the subscription application to the fund, the subscriber must pay an amount of (10) JD as a non-refundable enrollment fee and the sum of (200) JD as a subscription fee.
An amount is deducted from the balance of each subscriber that equals to the amount of his/her contribution in the amount of solidarity, and if the balance of the subscriber plunges to less than (100) JD, he/she will be sent a notice by publishing two advertisements in two local daily newspapers and on the association’s electronic website in order to cover his/her balance during one month from the date of circulating the advertisement.
In the event of a permanent total incapacity, the subscriber or the beneficiaries ,in case of the subscriber’s death, would deserve the social solidarity amount of no more than (50) thousand dinars, and an equation for this calculation has been devised as follows:
Number of subscribers × Number of subscription months with a maximum of (50 Months) × (10) JD × (2%)
In case of the subscriber’s permanent total incapacity, the social solidarity fund system has developed a defined mechanism which allows the incapable engineer to be granted the due solidarity amount, where the due amount will be paid as monthly installments of (50) months, and in case of his death, the rest of the amount will be paid to the inheritors.
The social solidarity fund system has identified two cases for the loss of the subscriber’s membership:
The first case: If the subscriber’s balance continues to plunge and reaches the amount of (25) JD, and if he/she didn’t increase the balance after the expiration of notice period.
The second case: Based on a written request from the subscriber himself/herself and in person
In these two abovementioned cases, the standing amount shall be returned back and paid to the subscriber who has subsequently lost his/her membership after deducting an amount of (25) JD as administrative services.
