First: The procedures for the registration of a local contracting firms:

The conditions and documents required for the registration process:

Firstly: The commercial register (Recent).
Secondly: The commercial name, if any.
Thirdly: A transcript verifying of the Contractors Association membership.
Fourthly: The presence of full-time founding engineers in person.
Fifthly: A recent social insurance statement must be provided which indicates the monthly transactions for the full-time founding engineer as well as providing a resignation record from the last employment or an experience certificate showing the end period of the previous employment.
Sixthly: providing the founding engineer’s passport.
Seventh: The founding engineer shall have paid all his annual subscription.

Steps for the registration of the firm:

Firstly: The Filling out the form of the firm.

Secondly: The Filling out the form of the full time founding engineer of the firm.

Thirdly: Inserting the firm’s information on the electronic records of the association.

Fourthly: The issuance of the decision approving the registration of the full time engineer of the firm.

Second: The registration of engineers for a contracting firm

The conditions and documents that are required for the registration process:

Firstly: An original headed, printed and sealed employment contract or appointment letter to be addressed to the Jordanian Engineers Association in which the following are indicated explicitly: the date of appointment not to exceed one month retroactively and the engineer’s salary which must not be less than the minimum salary scale adopted and approved by the association’s council.

Secondly: a recent social insurance statement must be provided which indicates the monthly transactions.

Thirdly: The presence of the engineer in person.

Fourthly: The engineer’s annual subscription shall have been paid in full.

Fifthly: The engineer’s passport must be provided for verification in case the engineer did not continue working for a period of more than two months.

Sixthly: The engineer’s identity civil card must be provided.

Steps for the registration of an engineer:

Firstly: The filling out of the application of an engineer’s registration by the engineer in person.

Secondly: Inserting the engineer’s application on the association’s electronic records.

Thirdly: Issuing a letter addressed to the firm which verifies the registration and confirmation of the engineer’s record on the firm within the association’s records.

Third: the termination of the engineers’ registration from a firm.

The conditions and documents which are required to terminate the registration:

Firstly: A headed, printed and sealed letter addressed to the Engineers Association within one month from the date of the resignation in which the date of resignation is mentioned or providing an official experience certificate verifying and indicating the date of resignation.

Steps to terminate the registration of the engineer:

Firstly: The filling out of an engineer registration cancelation form by the engineer in person.

Secondly: Inserting the engineer’s application on the association’s electronic records.

Thirdly: Issuing a letter addressed to the firm which indicates the termination of the registration of the engineer’s record on the firm.

Fourth: The liquidation or dissolution of a contracting firm

• The required conditions and documents:

Firstly: providing a letter issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Firms / the Control Department - stating the liquidation and dissolution of the firm and its closing.

Secondly: providing a letter from the Contractors Association stating the halting of practice of the firm as it is under liquidation.

Thirdly: the presence of one of the registered partners of the firm confirming his identity through providing his identity of the Civil Status.

• The steps for the liquidation or dissolution of the firm:

Firstly: confirming the amendments of the firm on the association’s electronic records and then proceeding to halt the practices of the firm.

Fifth: the withdrawal of a partner engineer from a contracting firm

• The required conditions and documents:

Firstly: Providing an official from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing – The Government Tenders Department – addressed to the association stating the withdrawal of the partner from the contracting firm.

Secondly: Providing the new and old commercial register verifying the changes in the association’s records.

Thirdly: the presence of the withdrawing partner engineer confirming his identity through providing his identity of the Civil Status.

• Steps of withdrawal of the partner engineer:

First: confirming the amendments of the firm on the association’s electronic records.

Secondly: issuing a letter addressed to the contracting firm stating the termination of the engineer’s registration of the firm.

Sixth: The issuance of certificates

• The conditions and documents required for the issuance of a certificate of the names of employees in a contracting firm:

Firstly: a headed, sealed and printed letter addressed to the Jordanian Engineers Association in which the names of the working engineers and registered engineers currently in the firm are mentioned or filling out the issuing form of the classification certificate in the presence of one of the founding partners provided providing the commercial register and the identity of the Civil Status.

Secondly: the payment of the annual subscriptions for all engineers whom their names are listed in the disclosure.

• Steps for issuing the certificate:

Firstly: the payment of fees for issuing a certificate of the names of employees.
Secondly: printing the “To Whom It May Concern” letter showing the names of employees in the firm and the registered personnel in the association’s records.

• Notes when issuing a certificate of the names of employees:

Firstly: the classification letter addressed from the contracting firm to the Engineers Association can be provided by any person sent by the firm without authorization and without mentioning his name in the letter.

Secondly: in case of a mismatch of names on the system with the names in the names disclosure received from the firm, the firm is asked to correct the situations of engineers who have completed their services and were hired according to what is mentioned above in item (A) No. 2 and No. 3 regarding the registering and ending of the engineers for the contracting firm.

• Terms and documents required to issue a certificate of full time working:

Firstly: the engineer shall not be registered at any entity in the records of the association.

Secondly: the presence of the engineer in person.

Thirdly: Providing the engineer’s identity of the Civil status.

Fourthly: The engineer shall have paid the annual subscription.

Fifthly: Providing a recent social insurance statement showing the transactions.

Sixthly: Providing the original passport.

• Steps for issuing the certificate:

Firstly: filling out the issuing form of full time certificate by the engineer.

Secondly: the payment of fees for issuing the certificate of full time.

Third: Issuing the “To Whom It May Concern letter” indicating that the engineer does not work at any other party according to the records of the Engineers Association.

• Notes when issuing the full time certificate:

Firstly: the full time certificate will not be issued except only in the presence of the full time engineer in person.

• Terms and documents required for issuing the certificate of practicing the profession:

Firstly: The presence of the engineer in person.
Secondly: Providing the engineer’s identity of the civil status.
Thirdly: The engineer shall have paid the annual subscription.

• Steps for issuing the certificate:

Firstly: The filling out the issuing form of the certificate of practicing the profession.
Secondly: the payment of fees for issuing the certificate of practicing the profession.
Third: Issuing the “To Whom It May Concern” letter indicating that the engineer is registered at the association and has paid the annual subscription and is entitled to practice the profession in his specialization.
