Foreign Contracting Firms

First: the procedures for the registration of a foreign contracting firms

• The conditions and documents required for the registration process:

Firstly: The commercial register.

Secondly: A transcript verifying of the Contractors Association membership.

Thirdly: The tender assignment letter issued by the cabinet.

Fourthly: The official Letter regarding the decision of licensing the firm issued by the Ministry of Public Works with the approval of assignment.

Fifth: A Copy of the coalition agreement signed between the foreign contracting firm and the local contractor.

Sixth: It should stipulated that the number of Jordanian engineers working with the firm shall be double the number of non-Jordanian engineers working in it, and in case of participation with Jordanian contracting firms, it is allowed to add up the number of Jordanian engineers working in the two firms in the project to meet the condition of the requirement and in all cases the number of Jordanian and non-Jordanian engineers working in the firm shall not be less than ‘one” single engineer.

Seventh: Providing a list of the names of the engineers working in the firm for both the Jordanians and foreigners engineers.

Eighth: The registration of non-Jordanian engineers in the association’s records.

Steps for the registration of the firm:

Firstly: The Filling out the form of the foreign firm’s data.

Secondly: The issuance of the council’s decision so as to approve the registration of the firm.

Thirdly: After the issuance of the approval, the firm’s registration fee must be paid.

Fourthly: The insertion of the firm’s information on the association’s electronic records.

Fifthly: The issuance of the “To Whom It May Concern” Letter indicating that the firm is officially registered at the association’s records and that it has already paid the annual subscription.

• Notes when registration the firm:

Firstly: Filling out the form of firm’s data is to be done by the commissioner for the firm in accordance with the commercial register or upon bringing a private agency from the court in this regard verifying the one who is undertaking the registration process concerning the firm.

Secondly: The firm can be provided with a copy of the letter of the issuance of the council’s decision approving the registration of the firm.

Second: the Registration of the engineers on a foreign firm

• The conditions and documents that are required for the registration process:

Firstly: A printed and sealed employment contract or appointment letter to be addressed to the Jordanian Engineers Association in which the following are indicated explicitly: the date of appointment and the engineer’s salary which must not be less than the minimum salary scale adopted and approved by the association’s council.

Secondly: a recent social insurance statement must be provided which indicates the monthly transactions.

Thirdly: The presence of the engineer in person.

Fourthly: The engineer’s annual subscription shall have been paid in full.

Fifthly: The engineer’s passport must be provided for verification in case the engineer did not continue working for a period of more than two months.

Sixthly: The engineer’s identity civil card must be provided.

Steps for the registration of an engineer:

Firstly: The filling out of the application of an engineer’s registration by the engineer in person.

Secondly: Inserting the engineer’s application on the association’s electronic records.

Thirdly: Issuing a letter addressed to the firm which verifies the registration and confirmation of the engineer’s record on the firm within the association’s records.

Third: the termination of the engineers’ registration from a foreign firm.

• The conditions and documents which are required to terminate the registration:

Firstly: A printed and sealed letter addressed to the Engineers Association in which the date of resignation is mentioned.

Secondly: A recent social security statement that shows the transactions.

Steps to terminate the registration of the engineer:

Firstly: The filling out of an engineer registration cancelation form.

Secondly: Inserting the engineer’s application on the association’s electronic records.

Thirdly: Issuing a letter addressed to the firm which indicates the termination of the registration of the engineer’s record on the firm.

• Notes when terminating the engineer registration:

Firstly: The presence of engineer is not required to terminate the registration.
